Walk, Food, Breathe: My Three Daily Anchors for Youthful Energy

Complicated plans don’t survive busy lives. My day orients around three anchors that rarely fail me: a walk, a protein-and-color meal, and a breathing practice. If I hit all three, I feel younger than my birth certificate suggests.

Walk

Twenty to forty minutes, most days. If time is tight, I split it: ten in the morning light, ten at lunch, and ten at dusk. The goal is rhythm, not records.

Food

  • Protein: a palm-and-a-half portion per meal.
  • Color: berries or citrus early; leafy greens and another veg at night.
  • Fats: olive oil, nuts, avocado, satiety without fog.
  • Hydration: water at wake, pre-lunch, mid-afternoon, and dinner.

Breathe

Two minutes of 5-in/6-out before difficult tasks or when pain tries to boss me around. Breath gives me back the steering wheel.

Takeaway: If the day gets messy, return to the anchors. Walk. Protein and color. Breathe. Repeat tomorrow.
