Your First Visit with Dr. Komberg: What to Expect (Step by Step)

First visit nerves are normal. My job is to listen, examine carefully, explain clearly, and start a plan you can actually follow. Here’s the play-by-play so there are no surprises, just progress.

1) Conversation & Goals

We discuss your story: when the pain started, what makes it better/worse, prior care, red flags, and most importantly, your goals (sleep, gym, work, sport).

2) Exam & Screens

  • Posture/motion testing, orthopedic/neurologic screens
  • Functional tasks (sit, lift, look over shoulder)
  • Imaging only when indicated by the exam

3) Clear Plan

  • What’s happening: I explain the working diagnosis in simple terms.
  • Care blend: Gentle adjustments, soft-tissue work, mobility/strength, pacing.
  • Home plan: Two targeted exercises you can realistically do.
  • Timeframe: Re-check milestones (sleep, sitting tolerance, sport) and taper as you improve.

4) Collaboration

If your case needs co-management (e.g., neurologist, primary care, sports med), I coordinate referrals and share notes with your permission.

Preparation Tips

  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Bring previous imaging or reports
  • List top three goals (short and long term)

Ready to get moving again? Book your first visit, I’ll meet you where you are and build from there.
